One of the individuals arrested in connection with the assault on 6ix9ine in South Florida has reportedly been identified as a high-ranking member of the Latin Kings gang.
TMZ, in an exclusive report on March 31, shed light on the background of one of the arrested individuals involved in the brutal beating. According to TMZ, Rafael Medina Jr., the eldest among the trio arrested, holds a prominent position within the Latin Kings gang. Sources from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office’s police gang unit have disclosed that Medina Jr. is, in fact, the president of the Palm Beach County Chapter of the Latin Kings.
Normally, the Latin Kings maintain an alliance with the Bloods gang. It’s worth noting that in 2019, Tekashi cooperated as a witness against a New York City faction of the Bloods known as the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods in order to secure a more lenient sentence in his RICO case. However, the precise motive behind the assault on 6ix9ine remains unconfirmed.
As previously reported, on March 30, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of three individuals believed to be responsible for assaulting 6ix9ine in a bathroom at an LA Fitness facility in Lake Worth, Florida, on March 21. The assailants were identified as Rafael Medina Jr., Octavious Medina, and Anthony Maldonado. The incident was captured on video, which proved crucial in identifying the individuals involved in the assault on the Brooklyn rapper. 6ix9ine sustained visible injuries during the attack, leading to his hospitalization for non-life-threatening injuries.
Following his release from the hospital, 6ix9ine relocated to Cuba and was recently seen in the Caribbean nation shooting a music video.
